Job Summary
This position works with overseas agents, air and ocean carriers, and domestic truckers to obtain various freight rates and review transport options in order to offer customers competitive quotes. It also involves coordinating carrier bookings, verifying availability, confirming loading, and managing documentation for ISF filings, customs clearance, and shipment processing.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with overseas offices to obtain freight rates and updates on bookings.
- Respond to emails in a timely manner to ensure bookings are confirmed and issues are addressed promptly.
- Provide freight quotes (all modes) to current and potential customers.
- Open shipments in CargoWise following department SOPs.
- Update customers on changes in freight rates, services, and booked shipments.
- Coordinate with the Customs Brokerage Division regarding imported goods.
- Monitor ISF, commercial, and shipping documents to ensure timely receipt and compliance.
- Audit all documentation for accuracy per SOPs.
- Upload documents into eDocs in CargoWise.
- Issue payments to carriers to ensure timely cargo release.
- Pre-bill and post charges and costs in CargoWise.
- Obtain original or telex-released ocean bills of lading prior to release.
- Communicate shipment details, requirements, and status updates with customers.
- Perform other relevant logistics department tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; basic Excel knowledge required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to communicate with customers, internal teams, and overseas partners effectively.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with CargoWise preferred but not required.
- Understanding of international transportation, freight rates, and Incoterms.
- Familiarity with FMC regulations and rate filing requirements.
- General knowledge of domestic transportation and trucking rates.
- Basic understanding of the Customs Brokerage process, including documentation and import restrictions.
