To our valued customers,
As we reflect on 2025, one theme stands out: change arrived fast. The recently published New Tariff Requirements for 2025 by CBP is not only a useful resource but a vivid illustration recapping the dozens of executive orders and Tariff actions that shifted with little notice last year. Importers were asked to make real decisions—often on tight timelines—with missing details or little clarity on the financial implications. Customs Brokers were challenged to keep pace and not only interpret but also implement the changes often without full CBP directives. M.E. Dey recognized the need to provide timely, practical & digestible information so our customers could adjust entries, plan costs, and understand the impact to their specific cargo. I’m grateful for a team of dedicated and knowledgeable trade compliance individuals who came together to be a resource during a very uncertain and chaotic time.
We head into 2026 with a heightened focus and commitment to being a strong and reliable trade partner for our customers. As we await the pending decisions on the legality of IEEPA‑based duties and what the practical outcome will be, we continue to focus on providing timely and relevant information that will help you navigate the changes. While the outcome—and the mechanics of any remedy—remain uncertain, please know that we are tracking developments closely and will continue to translate legal updates into clear, operational next steps for you and help provide detailed information on your entries.
To support you in the months ahead, we are:
- Expanding automation and analytics across our brokerage and compliance workflows—so the right duty, flag, and filing action surfaces quickly and consistently.
- Adding capacity and expertise, ensuring you have direct access to people who can help interpret changes and implement them on your entries.
- Enhancing reports and monitoring tools that keep you informed—especially where liquidation timing, duty exposures, or refund pathways may come into play.
- Keeping our ear to the ground with regulators, trade counsel, and trade networks to turn early signals into actionable guidance for your unique product mix and supply chain.
We are grateful for your partnership. We hope we’ve proven to be a strong and valuable part of your supply chain program—delivering reliable service under pressure, and bringing clarity when rules shift.
If you have questions about recent tariff changes, new trade negotiations, or upcoming liquidations, or how potential IEEPA outcomes could affect your entries, please reach out. Our compliance team is ready to help you evaluate options and set up the monitoring you need to make decisions with confidence: compliance@medey.com.
