WEATHER DELAYS FOR
VANCOUVER CARGO!!
01/07/04
Some vessels are slow in getting to
port while boxes already on the ground are not exiting terminals for
Midwest delivery at anywhere normal levels. This delay threatens to
create bottlenecks at discharge terminals.
StormWatch continues for
Southern British Columbia where
heavy snow, freezing rain and rain continues to fall in some areas.
-
Whistler can expect a fresh 30
centimeters of snow today. Freezing rain will be the problem in the
eastern portions of the Lower Fraser Valley. Snow showers will work
their way northward into the Interior and to the east.
-
If you're taking the Coquihalla
Highway today or Highway 3 via the Allison Pass between Hope and
Princeton, expect an additional 10 to 15 centimeters of snow and even
the risk of some freezing rain.
-
For
most south-coastal areas today, snow is expected to change to rain, and
flooding is now a concern for areas where snow is blocking drains and
gutters.
