Trade Barrier on Electrical Goods

A
directive from the European Union is scheduled to effect all electronic
and electrical equipment. On July 1, 2006, defined equipment may not have
ANY (a few tiny exceptions exist) of the following substances: Lead,
Mercury, Cadmium, Chromium VI, PBB or PBDE. Compliance for and liabilities
for penalties fall on the manufacturer, importer and rebrander.
