Advance Manifest Reporting

Per Elizabeth Durant, CBP executive director of trade programs:  Advance electronic cargo manifest reporting for railroad freight will begin on July 12, and air-cargo one month later.

Advance air-cargo manifest reporting will be phased in geographically beginning on Aug. 12, and move state-by-state from east to west. She said that shippers and Customs employees will be "rigorously training" to implement the system.

Advance truck reporting will begin in the fall, Durant said, when the first automated truck manifest system is introduced as a part of the Automated Commercial Environment.
